Lab Description:
Become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer in Basic and Advanced Life Support! This hands-on, highly interactive course uses CPR mannequins (Jerry dog models) that allow you to practice your clinical skills and decision-making in realistic scenarios. Rescuer Certification Sessions are conducted by certified instructors.
* Prerequisite: RECOVER CPR Basic & Advanced Life Support Certification. You must register, pay for & complete this online course on your own prior to attending this lab.

Instructors:
Julie Menard, DVM, DACVECC, RECOVER Certified BLS & ALS (CPR) Rescuer & Instructor
Dr, Menard is an Associate Professor at UCVM. She graduated from the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire D' Alfort in France and pursued a small animal rotating internship at the University of Montreal. She earned her DACVECC diplomate in 2011 after another internship at Cornell University. Her research interests include antimicrobial stewardship and resistance and the GI microbiome in critical care patients.
Nanci Bond, DVM, RECOVER Certified BLS & ALS (CPR) Rescuer & Instructor
Dr. Bond graduated from the AVC at the UPEI in 2013. She was a SA vet in rural Nova Scotia before moving to Dalhousie University in 2017. Here she taught vet tech students in practical skills & lectured in animal health & zoonotic disease for both tech & undergrad students. In 2022, Dr Bond joined the team at UCVM, teaching clinical skills & 4th year student rotations. She became certified in 2023 as a RECOVER instructor.
